Beginner Classes

The Beginner class is an introduction to agility for new dog | handler teams. Using positive reinforcement methods, teams will learn how to negotiate all the agility equipment safely. Teams will learn to work from both sides of each other. Most work is done on leash at this level. Jumps will be set at 4″ – 8″ depending on age and size of dog.

Skills at this level:
Tunnel & Chute Weave poles A-frame Dog walk
Intro to the teeter Jumps (inc. spreads) Tire jump Table
Basic handling Contact behaviours (various)

Pre-Competition Classes

The Pre-Competition class is suitable for dogs that have learned all the equipment and are able to work off leash, and dogs that have just started competing (i.e. are competing at Starters / Novice levels of regular agility competitions. Using positive reinforcement methods, teams will continue to improve their skills on the agility equipment and learn to handle a simple agility course. This class  Jumps will be set at a height depending on age and size of dog.

Teeter Jumps (inc. spreads) Tire jump Table
Intermediate handling Contact behaviours (various) Changing sides Start lines

Advanced Classes

The Advanced class is suitable for those dog | handler teams that are already competing beyond the Starters / Novice level or if non-competitive, instructors discretion. Using positive reinforcement methods, teams will continue to polish their skills on the agility equipment and learn to handle a typical competion agility course. Dogs must be able to work off leash at this point. Jumps will be set at competition heights depending on age and size of dog.

Trial Prep

Trial Prep is a seminar style class to answer all the questions you may have before heading to competion for the first time.

Competion Coaching

Competition Coaching are sessions for those teams that wish to compete or are already competing. Proofing equipment performance, handling skills at speed and distance, and negotiating course challenges will be focused on.
